Advances in the fight against childhood obesity

During the previous two days (June 15-16), the 13th meeting of the European Office of the World Health Organization (WHO) was held on the initiative for monitoring obesity in children (COSI), in which our Center has been participating for several years. At this meeting, current events from the current round of the COSI project were presented, as well as a proposal for a guide for the prevention and management of childhood obesity. Under the chairmanship of dr. Kremlin Wickramasinghe, head of the WHO Office for the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases, the meeting also focused on strengthening health policies related to the fight against childhood obesity. We are especially proud of the fact that one of the sessions was chaired by the associates of the Center, Prof. dr Višnja Đorđić and prof. Dr. Sergej Ostojic; the meeting was attended by delegates from more than 30 countries.
