New USDA Nutrition Guide

At the very beginning of the new year, the ninth edition of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2020 – 2025 was published. The guide is considered one of the most important documents on nutrition intended to improve the health of the entire population and the adoption of health policies aimed at global prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases caused by inadequate nutrition. The authors are the most prominent experts in the field of nutrition, and the first version of the Guide was published back in 1980. The new edition is further expanded with special recommendations on the nutrition of newborns and infants as well as pregnant women, which further strengthens the importance of lifelong care for proper nutrition.
